Starry eyed

I met Damian 'ideas machine' Barr when I was reviewing his Reading Weekend at Tilton House for The Guardian. The founder of numerous cultural success stories from the Literary Salon at Shoreditch House to Silent Cinema, Damian recently realised that what London was missing was an urban drive-in, and so Starlite was born. Complete with red carpet, roller skating waitresses, vintage airstreamer, popcorn, mini hotdogs and a carpark full of Volvo cars for your sitting pleasure; the drive in will be showing classics like Grease and Dirty Dancing. Advance tickets are sold out but more are being released on the day of showings and there are Facebook giveaways, so have a look here. Can't think of a venue concept better equipped for British summer ; lovely open top cars for sunny evenings; then just pop the roof back up for instant shelter come the odd shower of rain. Note though; you are NOT meant to honk your horn. I certainly did not do that. Not even once.
